This past week I received one of the best "calls-to-action" e-mails.
Austin was in a "deep" freeze, rolling blackouts were hitting the City and a number of businesses were closing. What did this mean? Lots of residents were going to be out-of-the-office. (I wasn't one of the lucky ones.) But, that's when Fado Irish Pub sent this well-written, action-enticing e-mail.
What did I think was great about this e-mail?
- It was timely sent. As Austin experienced cold weather and blackouts, Fado went to action, capturing a unique opportunity with customers who may be looking for an excuse to get out of the house.
- Fado told us they were ready. They had the kitchen up, the bartender (listed her by name) was ready and they told us hot drinks were ready to sip.
- They gave us a link to their winter drink menu.
- They told us several soccer games were coming up that afternoon and listed the schedule.
- And, a departing look at another great, hot drink.
Why wouldn't you want to go to Fado's after that?
A well-written, call-to-action e-mail makes an immediate impact with your customers and clients. It was timely and filled with information that could meet the needs a customer would likely have that day.
I hope to receive more e-mails from Fado's and others in the future. It felt that Fado's knew my interest and were ready to help. (And, they didn't even offer a special!)
